In accordance with the discussion during the Dececher 10, 1981 conference call, enclosed find copies of the Staff's evaluations of the Applicants' reports regarding (1) the recent occurrence of a series of snall earthquakes in the vicinity of the San Onofre site and (2) the October 8,1981 subnittal by Mr. David Phifer regarding geological features near the site. As stated during the conference call, copies of the Staff's evaluations are also being sent to the Board and parties in accordance with the Staff's Board flotification procedures. However, in order to pemit the parties to respond expeditiously to the Board's Order of Decenber 10, 1981, the attached copies are being sent by express nail.
