Docket No. 50-285

Dear Mr. Clark:

Omaha Public Power District's letter to the Commission dated January 30, 1981 provided information regarding the environmental qualification of the Fort Calhoun Station's safety related electrical equipment. 5 of the subject letter detailed the District's schedule for providing the environmental qualification information on equipment added to the Fort Calhoun Station in response to the TMI Action Plan (NUREG-0737).

Specifically, the District stated the equip-ment qualification documentation for the auxiliary feedwater (AFW) automatic initiation, the containment pressure monitoring, and the pressurizer level indication systems would be provided by November' 30, 1981. The initial selection of this date coincided with the completion of the 1981 refueling outage in early November and permitted several weeks t cycnd this for final auditing and verification of the installed systemc. Completion of the 1981 refueling outage has extended beyond early November to the middle of December due to the large number of TMI related system modifications and installations.

Therefore, the District proposes to extend the schedule for providing the information regarding environmental qualification.

The District presently plans to provide the Commission with the available qualification documentation for this equipment by January 31, 1982. The proposed schedule is consistent with the Commission's requirements in that the safety related electrical equipment on the subject systems will be environmentally qualified by June 30, 1982.
