PVNGS UNITS 1, 2 AND 3 I.

Potential Problem Foxboro Model 270 Displays are required to be environmentally and seismically qualified per specification requirements and IEEE Standards 323-1974 and 344-1975; however, these units were delivered to the jobsite prior to qualification as authorized by Bechtel Supplier Deviation Disposition Request (SDDR) No. 2605. Operational failures were experienced by Foxboro during the final seismic testing following the environ-mental tests. The failures are attributed to corrosion of Burndy connectors within the display electronics. This equip ment is being purchased by Bechtel and also Combustion Engi-neering as part of the NSSS contract.

II.

Approach To and Status Of Proposed Resolution Foxboro has notified Bechtel that a corrective action plan is being developed; however, the specific details have not been finalized.

III.

Projected Completion of Corrective Action and Submittal of the Final Report The evaluation, resolution and final report are forecast to be completed by January 29, 1982, i
