The purpose of this letter is to report the status of the fire protie'ction modifications required by 10 CFR 50.48.
As stated in Vepco letter, Serial No. 310 dated May 19, 1981, North Anna Units 1 and 2 are in compliance with all sections of 10 CFR 50.48 with the' exception of Section III.J which requires emergency lighting units with at least 8 hours9.259259e-5 days <br />0.00222 hours <br />1.322751e-5 weeks <br />3.044e-6 months <br /> power supplies in safe shutdown areas.
North Anna Units 1 and 2 now have emergency lights of at least 2 hours2.314815e-5 days <br />5.555556e-4 hours <br />3.306878e-6 weeks <br />7.61e-7 months <br /> installed in all safe shutdown areas.
Construction is now implementing the design change to upgrade all emergency lights to 8 hours9.259259e-5 days <br />0.00222 hours <br />1.322751e-5 weeks <br />3.044e-6 months <br /> with complete installation expected by December 19, 1981.
All other modifications required by 10 CFR 50.48 are complete.
