Dear Mr. Eisenhut:

By reference (1), you requested Florida Power Corporation to submit detailed information for meeting the requirements of Section III.G, III.J, and III.0 of Appendix R to 10 CFR 50.

By reference (2) FPC submittad tiie following:

(a) Detailed information to resolve unresolved items of the Fire Protection Safety Evaluation Report, Dated July 27, 1979.

(b) Reouested an exemption from the 30-day response requirement

/l004 until March 30, 1982, to provide detailed information for (4

5 meeting requirements of Sections III.G and III.L.

(c) Requested an exemption from back fitting the existing Reactor O

Coolant Oil Collection System on the basis that the existing i

oil collection system meets the objective of Section III.0, and was previously approved by the NRC and implemented by FPC.

By reference (3), FPC received Staff's evaluation on the proposed. Safe Shutdown Panel for meeting the intent of Sections III.G and III.L. FPC is currently reveiwing these evaluations in conjunction with the ongoing design studies.

Pending Staff's response to FPC's letter of March 19, 1981, FPC reaffirms tha+ FPC will provide the NRC with the appropriate design details and in alation schedules for meeting Sections III.G and III.L of 10 CFR 50 by March 30, 1982.

Regarding Section 111.0, FPC is awaiting for NRC's response to FPC's letter of March 19, 1981.
