REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFOR!MTION

.DRESDEN NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT'NOS. 1, 2, AND 3' i

DOCKET N6S. 50-10, 50-237, AND 50-249 The following requests pertain to both Dresden Unit No. 1 and Dresden Unit Hos. 2 and 3 submittals:

1.

Provide flow rate,. velocity, relative temperature difference between j

gaseous effluent and ambient, and relative location to adjacent structures for each gaseous effluent release point.

J 2.

Define exactly-which wind and stability data were used for the calculation of the X/Q and D/Q values presented in Table 2.3-1.

Discuss the representativeness of these data relative to the type-of release analyzed.

3.

Explain the reasons for the missing wind direction frequencies-in Table 2.5-2.

4.

Provide additional meteorological data from Argonne National Laboratcry for the period concurrent with that of site data for the meteorolo;4Lal parameters in Tables 2.5-1 through 2.5-3.

If these data are not j

available, provide data from another nearby, representative meteoro-

' logical data collection station for a minimum 10-year period and for the period concurrent with onsite data collection.

Provide the missing joint _ frequency distributions of wind speed and wind direction by atmospheric stability class based on 300-foot wind data and temperature differential between 300 feet and 35 feet, as i

j well as 35-foot wind data and temperature differential between 150 feet and 35 feet, both for calendar year 1975.

6.

The data recovery for the joint frequency of wind and stability data is less than 90% for all recording levels, which does not meet the recommendations of Regulatory Guide 1.23.

Provide the procedures which will improve the data recovery to at least 90% and a schedule for submitting one complete annual cycle of meteorological data j
