DC=OCUU The Atomic Energy Commission is giving public notice that it is considering issuance of an operating license to Florida Power Corpor-ation for operation of the Crystal River Unit 3 Nuclear Generating Plant located in Citrus County, Florida.

The notice provides that within 30 days after publication of notice in the FEDER AL REGISTER on October

14, 1972, any member of the i public whose interest may be affected may file a request for a public 2

l hearing in the form of a petition for leave to intervene with respect to E

j (1) whether the construction permit previously issued by the Commis-y sion should be continued, modified, terminated, or appropriately condi-(

tioned to protect environmental values and (2) whether an operating g

license should be issued.

,P E Petitions for leave to intervene must be filed under oath or affirma-b @

tion and must set forth the interest of the petitioner in the proceeding, how that interest may be affected by the results of the proceeding, and F *i

{ the petitioner's contentions with respect to the proposed licensing action.

Such petitions must be filed with the Secretary of the Commission, U. S.

4 proceeding as to which intervention is desired and specifies with par-33 f ticularity the facts on which the petitioner relies as to both bis interest and his contentions with regard to each aspect on which intervention is requested. Petitions stating contentions relating only to matters outside the Commission's jurisdiction will be denied.
