Dear Mr. Strslow:
In accordance with the Council on Environmental Quality's Interin Guidelinea and the Comunission's rarrised statement of policy on implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, I am pleased to provide you with three copies of the environmental report prepared by the Duke Power Company for its proposed Oconee Nuclear Station Units 1, 2, and 3.
Couaments are requested within thirty days concerning those matters over which your agency has jurisdiction by law or special expertise with respect to any envi-roamental impact involved or is authorized to develop and enforce environmental standards. If no comuments are received within the thirty-day period, it will be presmed that your agency has no comments to make. As provided in paragraph 7(b) of the Council's Interim Guidelines, comments are not requested with respect to water quality aspects of the proposed action since the Duke Power Company will have to obtain a water quality certification from the appropriate State or interstate pollution control agency.
After we have received the comments of the various Yederal, State, and local agencies, we vill prepare a detailed environmental statement, including a discussion of any problems or objections raised snd tne disposition thereof. Copies of the agency coments and the statement will be forwarded to the Council and the agencies concerned. Copies of the statement will also be made available i
