In accordance with the Council on Environmental Quality's Interim Guidelines and the Commission's revised statement of policy on implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, I as pleased to provide you with a copy of the environmental 4
report prepared by the Duke Power Company for its proposed Oconee Comments are requested within Nuclear Station Units 1, 2, and 3.

As provided in paragraph 7(b) of the Council's Interim Guidelines, corusents are not requestad with respect to water quality aspects of the proposed action since the Duke Power Company will have to obtain a water quality certification from the appropriate State or interstata pollution control agency.
Af ter we have received the comments of the various Federal, State, and local agencies, we will prepara a detailed environmental including a discussion of any problems or objections statement, raised and the disposition thereof. Copies of the agency conwatuts and tha statement vill be forwarded to the Council and the agencies concerned. Copies of the statement will also be made available
