Dear Mr. Warren:
In accor42nce with the Council om Environmental Quality's Interim Guidelines and the Commission's revised statement of policy on implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, I am pleased to provide you with a copy of the environmental report prepared by the Duke Power Company for its proposed Oconee Nuclear Statica Unita 1, 2, and 3.
Cosmaents are requested within thirty days concerning those mettere over which your agency has jurisdiction by lar or special expertise with respect to any envi-roamental ispect involved or is authorised to develop and enforce environmental standards. If no comments are received within the thirty-day period, it will be presaned that your agency has no comments to make. As provided in paragraph 7(b) of the Council's Interim Guidelines, comments are not requested with respect to water quality aspects of the propened sation since the Duke Power Company will have to obtain a unter quality certification from the appropriate State or interstate pollution control agency.
After we have received the comments of the various Federal, State, and local agencies, we will prepara a detailed savironmental statement, including g discussion of any problems or objections raised and the disposition thereof. Copies of the agency comments and the stateertat will be forwarded to the Cooneil and the agencies concerned.
