I am pleased to provide you with the enclosed (dtailed statement prepared by the Carmission's Division of Reactor Licensing en environ::iental considerations in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act relating to the application for an oper-ating liccuse filed by Duke Poeer Company for the Oconee Nuclear Station, Unit lio.1.
A notice of proposed issuance of an opera-ting license was published in the Federal Register on January 8, 1971.
This statement was prepared in accordance with our interi:n pro-cedures for conpliance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, and includes the applicant's environrental report and the ccaments of various Federal, State and local agencies concerning the environmental ef fects associated with the pro-peced facility. A notice of the availability of the statement (copies enclosed) is being forwarded to the Office of the Federal Engister for filing and publication.
