Nuclear Reactor Regulation, and Ms. C. Antonescu of the Office of
Nuclear Regulatory Research during the period of March 1 through 5,
1993.
The inspection covered activities authorized by NRC License
Numbers NPF-41, NPF-51, and NPF-74.
At the conclusion of the
inspection, on March 5, the inspectors discussed the findings with

enclosed report.

Areas examined during this inspection are described in the report,

Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective
examinations of procedures and representative records,-interviews
with personnel, and observations by the inspectors.
No violations or deviations of NRC Anticipated Transients Without
Scram requirements were identified within the scope of this
-
inspection.
However, your documentation did not support your
,
qualification of the diverse auxiliary feedwater actuation system
(DAFAS) as a safety grade system.
As discussed with your-staff, a
reevaluation of your classification of DAFAS as a safety grade
I
system needs to be performed.
In accordance with 10 CFR Part 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and
the enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Docunent' Room.
