SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-325/93-10 AND 50-324/93-10

This refers to the inspection conducted by Richard L. Prevatte of this office

on February 6 - March 5, 1993. The inspection included a review of activities

i

authorized for your Brunswick facility.

At the conclusion of the inspection,

the findings were discussed with those members of your staff identified in the

enclosed report.

Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. Within

i

these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures

and representative records, interviews with personnel and observation of

activities in progress.

The enclosed Inspection Report identifies activities that violated NRC

requirements that will not be subject to enforcement action because the

licensee's efforts in identifying and/or correcting the violation meet the

criteria specified in Section VII.B. of the Enforcement Policy. Additionally,

it is not clear how your Nuclear Assessment Department (NAD) will measure and

determine when Brunswick Unit 2 has successfully completed the corrective

actions required by NAD's startup readiness assessment.
