SUBJECT:
REQUALIFICATION PROGRAM INSPECTION In a telephone conversation on March 31,1993, Mr. R. Sanaker, General Supervisor -
Operations Training, Unit 1, and Ms. T. Walker, Sr. Operations Engineer, arranged to evaluate the requalification program at Nine Mile Point, Unit 1. The NRC will evaluate the facility licensee's requalification program based on inspection activities in accordance with NRC Inspection Manual Temporary Instruction TI-2515/117. The inspection will be performed based on facility administered examinations which are scheduled to start May 24,1993. The specific on-site inspection will be performed during the week of June 7,1993.
On February 9,1993, the NRC staff met with members of your staff, identified in Enclosure 1, at the NRC Region I office in K'ag of Prussia, PA, and discussed NRC Inspection Manual Temporary Instruction TI-2515/117. Your staff was provided a copy of revision 7 of the Examiner Standards and a copy of TI-2515/117.
In order to prepare for the inspection activities, you will need to furnish a sample plan / test outline for the examinations to be administered, as well as copies of the examinations.
Mr. Sanaker agreed to provide these materials by May 24,1993. Your staff should assure appropriate measures are taken to preclude examination compromise when subm.itting the examinations.
