[

i In accordance with Part II, C(2) of the above referenced NPDES permit, i

duplicate copies of the monthly monitoring report for June, 1999 are enclosedt Please note at McGuire Nuclear Station, Outfall'003, there was a ' focal co11 form exceedance of >2400/100 ml on June 27, 1989.

The focal exceedance was believed to be the result of incufficient chlori. nation of the sanitary system discharge.

Upon this. discovery, chlorine addition was immediately corrected to achieve the optimum disinfection.

'Ihere was no harmful impact to the environment since outfall 003 discharges to the Wastewater Collection Basin (Outfall 005) prior to discharging to the-environment.

Fecal samples collected f rom outf all 005, on the same day, indicated that the discharge was well within water quality standards, i

Additionally, please note that on outfall 002, thare was a pH exceedance of 9.2 which was referenced in a letter to you dated June'16, 19991 i

l Please direct any ' correspondence or questions concerning the McGuire Nuclear ^ Station., NPDE8 Program to M.
