BIG ROCK POINT ICSCC INSPECTION PROGRAM I.
Scope and Schedule A.
1992 Refueling Outage (end of second ICI interval)
accessible during the. reactor vessel mechanized inspection.
Although these welds will-be examined using standard UT methods, to our knowledge no ICSCC inspection techniques and associated qualified procedures / examiners are available to permit-inspection at this time.
Should the techniques and services become available Consumers Power Company wi11' consider inclusion of these exams in.
the mechanized inspections..
- 2) Perform ICSCC examination of the accessible portions of'the two 20" recirculation nozzles.

Third Inspection Interval (1992 - 2002) l
- 1) Examination of one-half (34) of the normally accessible welds i
during the first period (approx.1992 to 1995).

- 2) Examination of one-half (35) of the normally accessible welds during the second period (approx. 1995 to 1998).

Standard UT examination of the 12 reactor vessel welds accessible only during reactor vessel mechanized examination.
As described above, should the techniques and services become available, Consucers Power Company v111' consider inclusion of the IGSCC exams during these inspections.

II., Revision of Scope and Schedule A.
If IGSCC is detected during an inspection, the number-of welds to-be examined will escalate per the requirements of ASME Boiler and I
Pressure Vessel Code,Section XI, Subsection IWB-2430, 1977 Edition i
through Summer 1978 Addenda.

If IGSCC indications are detected, indications will be evaluated per ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code,Section XI, Subsection.IWB-3500,.

If an indication is unacceptable, repair will be by-weld overlay-reinforcement, partial weld replacement or full-weld replacement.
All flaw repair (s) will be handled on a' case by case basis. Other repair methods may be used if appropriate materials and processes are available that offer the repaired. veld sufficient resistance to-ICSCC.
D.
Indications may be analyzed per ASME' Boiler and Pressure Vessel-Code,Section XI. Subsection IWB-3600, 1977 Edition through Summer 1978 Addenda.
E.
This program will be amended at the end of the second : Inservice -
Inspection interval to reflect code updates as required by 10 CFR.
III. Qualification of Examinations A.
All IGSCC examinations will incorporateI ualified examiners'and-1 q
procedures in accordance with IE Bulletin 83-02.
IV.
Summary To date Big Rock Point has performed 89 examinations for IGSCC on 71 of the 90 accessible welds (7 of the accessible welds were unable to be examined due to configuration). For detailed information on these examinations and a history of correspondence on ICSCC'at Big Rock Point refer to the Reference Section.
