Catawba Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-413 and 50-414 Proposed Technical Specification Amendment Technical Specification 4.6.1.8 Gentlemen:

Please find attached a proposed amendment'to Technical Specification (TS):

4.6.1.8.

This change will require that the laboratory test of the-carbon samples from the Annulus Ventilation System be tested at 95% relative humidity and 30* C, for a methyl iodido penetration of'O.71%. This proposed'TS change also corrects the Surveillance Requirements to verify that-the-system starts-on a Safety Injection signal every eighte'en months.

Attachment I contains the marked up TS and Bases pages. Attachment II contains a discussion, Technical Justification, No Significant flazards Analysis, and an Environmental Impact Statement.

-i Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.91(b)(1) the appropriate South Carolina State Official is being provided a copy of this amendment request.
