Content Pages 1-4; Pages 2-1, 16-1, 16-2, and 16-3.

These revisions are being made to correct a typographical error, reflect the correct frequency of cumulative deviation reporting and to clarify the applicability of other ANSI N45.2 Standards not endorsed in NQA-1 (this last item is at the request of the Region III reviewer).

The changes do not reduce the commitments in the previously accepted Quality Assurance Program and are; therefore, being implemented immediately.

Thank you for your submittal of Revision 56 of your Quality Assurance Topical Report CE-1-A.

We have reviewed the changes contained in this revision and have conducted a review of the structures systems and components classified as safety related that are included in the respective Safety Analysis Reports (SARs) of the stations.

In discussions with Edison QA/NS staff personnel it was learned that, in furtherance of the SAR classification commitments Edison has been pursuing other classification efforts and goals for an improved combined system to support all stations.

Your staff also indicated that completion of the improved system is anticipated in the near future.

Based on our review and discussions, we find that your revised Topical Report program continues to satisfy the requirements of 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B, and is therefore acceptable.

If there are changes to QA commitments existing in docketed correspondence outside of the program description, you are obligated to notify this office.
