Gentlemen:

This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. A. G. Januska and

Dr. R. B. Holtzman of this office on March,5-9, 1990, of activities at the Big

Rock Point Nuclear Plant,' authorized by NRC Operating License No. DPR-6 and to

the discussion of our findings with Mr. W. L. Beckman and others of your staf f

on March 9, 1990 at the conclusion of the inspection.

The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during

the inspection.

Within these areas,. the inspection consisted of a selective

examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and

' interviews with personnel.

In addition, our Mobile Laboratory was at the site

'during the' inspection to perform independent measurements of radioactivity.
