SUBJECT:
~UNIMPLEMENTED UNRESOLVED SAFETY ISSUES,' SOUTH TEXAS PROJECT, UNITS 1 AND 2-On October 19', 1989 the staff issued Generic Letter (GL) 89-21 which requested information concerning the status of implementation of unresolved safety issues (USIs) at your facility.
Based on the Houston Lighting & Power' Company response to this GL dated December 4, 1989, our review of Agency records and discussions
- between your staff and the NRC Project Manager, the NRC staff has compiled the H
enciesed list representing its assessment of USl implementation. These results were presented to.the Commission at a meeting on February 14, 1990.
The enclosure to this letter presents the staff's understanding of the current status of all unimplemented USIs for the South Texas Project, Units I and 2.
