UNIMPLEMEllTED UNRESOLVED SAFETY ISSUES AT RIVER BEND STATION, UNIT NO. 1 On October 19, 1989, the NRC staff issued Generic Letter (GL) 89 21 which requested information concerning the status of implementation of unresolved safety issues (USIs) at your facility.

Based on your response to this GL dated November 29, 1989, our review of NRC records and discussions between your steff and the NRC Project lianager, the NRC staff has compiled the enclosed list representing our assessment of USI implementation. These results were presented to the Comission at a meeting on February 14, 1990.

The enclosure to this letter presents the NRC staff's understanding of the current status of all unimplemented USIs for River Bend Station, Unit No. 1.

The staff encourages your effort to complete the unimplemented USIs.
