SUBJECT:

COMANCHE PEAK STEAM ELECTRIC STATION (CPSES)

DOCKET NOS. 50 445 AND 50 446 RESPONSE TO GENERIC LETTER 90 01:

" REQUEST FOR VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION IN NRC REGULATORY IMPACT SURVEY" Gentlemen:

In Generic Letter 90 01, the NRC requested utility support in providing information regarding the impact of NRC imposed inspections, audits and evaluation on utility operations and resources.

Under NUMARC's direction, self assessment activities, including INPO Assist visits, which are conducted to enhance plant performance have not been included. There are numerous self-initiated evaluations conducted annually to improve quality, plant performance and operations which do not result from external commitments.

Attached is TU Electric's response to the NRC impact survey questionnaire.

If additional information is required, please contact Veronica Cornell at (214) 812-8886.

Sincerely, G O'Ibb <t m f & h ) %
