This is to advise you of a special inspection initiative that is being performed at operating reactors.

It will include an inspection to be performed 1

at your Vogtle site. The initiative is entitled the "EOP Inspection Program."

The purpose of the inspection is to verify that the E0Ps are technically accurate; that specified actions can be meaningfully accomplished using existing equipment, controls, and instrumentation; and that the available procedures have the usability necessary to provide the operator with an effective operating tool.

The inspection program is a team inspection. The inspection team will include two or three reactor inspectors, a licensing examiner, a human factors specialist, and the Vogtle senior resident inspector.

The inspection is scheduled for May 7-18, 1990.
