AFFECTING SAFETY.RELATED EQUIPMENT," DATED JULY 18, 1989 (TAC 74068)

-1 By letter dated January 31, 1990, you submitted the first of two required responses to the NRC Generic Letter (GL) 89-13. Noting that you have 1

committed to each of the five recomended actions of GL 09-13, or to an equally effective alternative course of action for one or nore of them, t

we accept your response as fulfulling this requirement of the GL 89-13.

We remind you that if you choose a course of action different from the J

recommended actions of GL 8913, you should document and retain in appropriate plant records a justification that the heat removal requirements of the service water system are satisfied by use of the alternative program.

The second response confirming that all of the recommended actions or their justified alternatives have been implemented shall be provided within 30 days of-implementation.
