Information Request Regarding Station Blackout UnresoN/c' Safety Issue A-44, Cooper Nuclear Station.

Dear Mr. Ippolito:

Your letter of July 20, 1981 requested information concerning the re-liability of the onsite standby diesel generators.

Four tables were provided in that letter to record solicited data for the years 1976 i

through 1980, inclusive. These tables have been completed and are hereby forwarded as enclosures 1 through 4.

With regard co Table 3, total downtime hours are provided for each l

instance of unscheduled diesel downtime as requested.

Specific times for troubleshooting, parts delivery, and repair / replacement however are not included in the station records.

Entries in thosa categoriec have been provided only where the times are specifically known.
