M se :.-v t This letter is a request by the tiRC staff for further information so that the str.ff can close out a matter relating to code compliance of certain components which were ' purchased for uses in the Hope Creek Generating Station, tJnits 1 and 2.
In your letter requesting authorization to use the above mentioned components, a table was provided, based on an expected construction permit issuance in 1971, which listed the coinponents, the date purchased, and the code and addenda to which the equipment was built.
In order for the staff to determine whether these components were designed to assure the achievement of an acceptable level of quality and safety, it requests that code and addenda requirements which would have been applicable in November 1974, when the construction permits were issued, also be provided.
Further, based on the information tiowing from these two sets of code requirements and addenda, the staff requests that an analysis of the difference between the two sets be provided for each component listed.
When this additional information is received, the staff is of the opinion that a rapid resolution of th'is matter can be accomplished.
