2nclosed you will find fifteen (15) copies of a set of information being submitted in response to NRC concerns on NUREG-0737 Item II.E.4.2 regarding the containment purge system valves (6" contain-ment vent valves), manufactured by Copes Vulcan.
This information set includes the following:

It should be noted that, even though the seismic analysis report No. 10.3.145 is labeled " seismic", it reflects the latest SQRT design requirements.
The two 6" drywell vent valves are each equipped with handwheels.
These are under administrative control as outlined in our response to Item II.E.4.2 submitted via letter SNRC-579 dated 5/29/81.

.Page 2 Shoreham Nuclear Power Station also utilizes 4" Copes Vulcan air operated valves or containment isolation valves for-the contain-ment inerting system.
These four valves are tagged 1T24AOV001 A, B and 1T24AOV004 A, B.
They are the same model as the 6" vent valves and also utilize the same size 100 air operator.- As such, the in-situ-valve operability test performed for the 6" vent valve can be applied toward the 4" valves as justification of their capability to.close against design differential pressure.
