Natick Irradiator (2) Description The package is a cylindrical, steel-encased, lead filled wcldment l

29-3/4" OD by 58" high enclosed in a double-walled impact and f're shield (overpack) 57" by 45" by 90" high mounted on a pallet l

The stepped cavity is 9.56" ID by 8-1/4", 12" ID by l

27-1/2" and 20" ID by 11-58".

The source holder (drawer assembly) is 9.48" OD by 46.625" with 9-1/2" shielding on bottom and 12-1/8" on top. A lead shielded cask insert :ssembly 20" OD by 9.52" ID by 12.12" is installed at the top of the cask and the er. tire assembly is held in place with a.1" thick steel lid secured r

with twelve,1" bolts. A cask drain line is sealed with a pipe plug.

A 39" OD laminated plywood plug fills the space between 4

the top of the cask and the overpack.

Plywood will be positioned 2

around the circumference of the irradiator for support.

The cask weighs 16,000 lbs.
