SUBJECT:

LICENSE AMENDMENT REGARDING FUEL EXPOSURE (BURNUP) LIMITATIONS The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 26 for the La Crosse Boiling Water Reactor (LACBWR). The amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications in response to your subriittal of June 1,1981.

The amendment allows an increase in the maximum fuel exposure limit for fuel assemblies not on the periphery of core from 15,600 MWD /MTU to 16,800 MWD /MTU.

During our review of your application, we found it necessary to nodify your proposed Technical Specifications. We have discussed these changes with your representative and have autually agreed upon them.

Copies of our Safety Evaluation and the Notice of Issuance are also enclosed.
