This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Messrs.

W. G. Guldemond ind R. L. Hague of this office 'on September 1-30, 1981,

of activities at Point Beach Nuclear Power Plant,. Units 1 and 2, author-

ized by NRC Operating Licenses No. DPR-24 and DPR-27 and to the discussion

of our iindings with Mr. G. A, Reed, at the conclusion of the inspection.

The enciased copy of bur, inspection report identifies areas examined during

the inspection. Within'these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective-

examination of procedures acd representative records, observations, and

interviews with personnel.

No items of noncompliance with NRC requirements were identified during this

meeting.

In accordance with 10,CFR 2.790 of the Conaission's regulations, a copy of

this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC's

your contractors believe to be exempt frora disclosure under 10 CI t 9.5(a)(4),

it is netessary that you (a) notify this office by telephone within seven (7)

days fro.n the date of this letter of yo'.ir intention to file a request for

withholding; and (b) submit within twenty-five (25) days from the date of

this letter a written application to this office to withhold such infor-

mation. Section 2.790(b)(1) requires that any such application must be

accompanied by an affidavit executed by the owner of the information which
