50-260 50-296 In my October 28, 1981 letter to you, we requested your concurrence with our proposal to integrate future NRC requirements into our schedule and to defer completion of certain requirements. The purpose of this letter is to inform you of the specific items which are intended to be deferred during the unit 3 cycle 4 outage (which began October 30, 1981) and to formally notify you that we will not be able to meet the eight-hour emergency lighting requirements of 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix R.
The enclosure lists the items that we intend to defer during the ongoing unit 3 outage. The basis for these deferrals and the new schedules for completion are described in detail in my October 28 letter to you.,
Our inability to meet the November-18, 1981 deadline for installation of the eight-hour emergency lights (as required by 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix R)-
was discussed in our September 30, 1981 meeting with your staff.
