50-260 50-296 On July 21, 1981 in Silver Springs, Maryland, the TVA staff met with members of your staff, the Office of Nuclear Materials Safety and Safeguards (NMSS) and the Office of Inspection and Enforcement (IE) concerning physical security provisions at the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant. At the meeting there was a brief discussion of the problems at Browns Ferry with regard to compartmentalizing C1. ass 1 vital areas.
Mr. Charles Gaskin of NMSS suggested that those problems be documented formally to the NRC. In response, we are providing as an enclosure a discussion of some of the Class 1 vital area compartmentalization problems at Browns Ferry.
The enclosure contains security-related information that is exempt from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790(d). Therefore, we request that the enclosure to this letter not be placed in the Public Document Room.
