The attached copies have been sent to both Daniels and Bechtel Power Corporation advising them of a change in the material used in Ramset's 1/4" Trubolt fasteners.
Wolf Creek is the only nuclear site using the 1/4" anchors with a specification listing higher tensile strenghts.

This will confirm the information given verbally regarding material specificativa for the Ramset 1/4" Trubolt fasteners.
The. material specification for standard Trubolt fasteners listed in Catalog 810-5-77, which is the referenced data in PO#7158-SR-15030 for Daniel Construction Company at Wolf Creek as follows:

AISI 1144 Tensile Strength - 108,000 psi (min)
Yield Strength - 90,000 psi (min)

The only anchors directly affected are the 1/4" Trubolts and your records should be updated to show the. decreased tensile strength of 78,000 psi (typical).
Ramset has evaluated the bmpact of using the previously published data of 108,000 psi tensile strength material.
Using a tensile stress area of.032 for 1/4" anchors the tensile strength of anchors with 78,000 psi tensile steel should be 2496 lbs. which is well above design loads assigned 1/4" anchors.
