Re:

Diablo Canyon Ndelear Power PIsnt U

To those in authority; to those who have the\\o)

P p

T e the ultimste decisiens concerning the Diablo Nuclear Power Plant.

You are challanging Nature to a debacle you cannot win. When the eventual " incident" happens at the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power

?lant and Mother Nature shakes it in the heat of her anger, it will surely melt down. You are building a house of weakness in the midst of terrain of great patential eruptive strength, and great will be the fall of that house.

To a physicist it is a joka to build a nuclear generating facility on, or near, an earthquake fault. The Diablo Nuclear Power Plant is located approximately 2 miles from ths. Hosgri Iarthquake Fault, the largest subsidiary fault of the Ssn Andreas Fault.

This fault is capable of an earthquake ten timds stronger than the nuclear power plant was made ec, withstand.,

Thus, you are making the decision about Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power plant and whether, or not, it will proceed to become known as one of Mankind's wisest rejections (in the interest of Man's wellbeing and health, and his care and concern for his brothers over the interests of the financial concerns of a special interest group; Love vs. Mammon). Or,te will be reknown as the major point of no return that led to the greatest catastrophy in the history of Man.

Sadest of all will be the fact that the bureaucrats of government will spin their lies while the innocent listen and are lulled ultimately to their death years later as a direct result of living near and being exposed to the radiation, let alone an

" incident."

You have the power to cooperate for the good of the people, or you can gamble on a high stakes bet at tremendous odds not concerning yourself about those insignificant little people.

Mcwever, you, nor your family, do not live near the nuclear power plant; so why not gambie.

Sincerely, p

hearings.

We believe that seismic safety, security andjRS uation plans are just a few of the health and safety issues that need tu be seriously confronted by the Nuclear Redulatory Commission.

We do not think that mining, milling, transportation, reprocessing, decommissioning, waste storage, and waste dis-posal have been dealt with any better than the apoarent fact that the Diablo nuclear facility was not butic well enough to withstand a 7.5 magnitude earthquake along the iiosgri fault.

'On behalf of the hundreds of thousands of potentially affected people -and their descendants we ask you to stop or rescind all licensing of the Diablo Nuclear Plant and to reconsider the inherent dangers of the nuclear fuel cycle.
