PHIPPS BEND NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 1 - REPORTABLE DEFICIENCY - QA DOCUMENTATION FOR DRYWELL FRAMED EMBEDMENTS - PRBD-50-553/81-14 The subject deficiacy was initially reported to NRC-0IE, Region II, Inspector P. A. Taylor on May 20, 1981, as NCR's 3-PBN, 4-PBN, and 6-PBN.
The first interim report was submitted on June 18, 1981. In compliance with paragraph 50.55(e) of 10 CFR Part 50, this letter constitutes our second interim report on the subject deficiency.
TVA is still in the process of evaluating the deficiency. A more detailed report of this evaluation will be provided to your office on or before January 20, 1982. This submittal date was discussed with P. A. Taylor of your staff on October 30, 1981.
TVA has also identified this nonconformance for the Hartsville Nuclear Plant. The deficiency was reported to Inspectors P. A. Taylor and F. Cantrell on May 20 and 29, 1981, respectively, as NCR's HNPA-142 through 150, 2-HTN, 5-HTN, 6-HTN, and 9 through 12-HTN. TVA considers 10 CFR Part 21 applicable to these nonconformances.
