IMPLEliENTATION OF UNRESOLVED SAFETY, ISSUE A-10, BUR fiOZZLE CRACKING By letter dated September 1,1981 you provided the infomation requested in our letter dated July 15, 1981 regarding the.above subject at the Edwin I.
Itatch !{uclear Plant, Units 1 and 2..Specifically, you provided:.. (1) infor-mation regarding your plans for plant-specific analysis of the existing feed-water low flow controllers, and.(2) additional infonnation concerning opera-tion of the control rod drive hydraulic system.
We concur in your perfoming the analysis.of the existing feedwater low flo.1 controller as provided by the NRC Generic Letter 81-11 dated February 20, 1981.
We will myiew this analysis when it is submitted in accordance with the guidance of NUREG-0619.
With regard to the control rod drive. hydraulic system modifications, we concur in your assessment that the modifications as described, supplemented by your comitnents regarding testing and in-service inspection, do satisfy the guidance of Section 8.2(2) of NUREG-0619.
No further correspondence is necessary on the subject of A-10 implenentation except your submittal of the analysis discussed above. Should you have any questions, or should problens arise, pl ase do not hesitate to contact your Project flanager.
