Dear Mr. Ippolito:
In our letter dated December 10, 1980, Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) provided a commitment to upgrade the Reactor Protection System (RPS) M-G sets for the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant Unit Nos. 1 and 2.
This was in response to your letter dated September 24, 1980. At that time, we indicated that design information and proposed Technical Specifications wt ald be provided to NRC by October 31, 1981.
However, in spite of our efforts to expedite delivery, we are unable to obtain the necessary information from the equipment vendor until mid-December, 1981.
Therefore, we are revising our commitment date for design information and proposed Technical Specifications to January 15, 1982.
This delay in our receipt of this information should have no impact upon the schedule for installation of the modifications.
