under design pressure. Specifically, the subject. IE Bulletin Supplement extended the concern to any Westinghouse Electro-Mechanical Division (W-EMD) manufactured motor-operated gate valves larger than the 3-and 4-inch-valves which were the subject of the original IE Bulletin -
You requested that we ascertain whether any W_-EMD manufactured valves have been installed or are maintained as' spares for ins.tallation in safety-related systems, and if so,Everify their aoility to close under the current-and/or intended se.rvice conditions. Based on our review, no W-EMD manufactured motor-operated gate valves, other than those reported in response to the original IE Bulletin dated May 18, 1981, are installed or maintained as spares. for installation at San Onofre Unit -1.
