Dear Mr. Haynes:

m In accordance with Connecticut Yankee Technical Specifications Section 6.9.2.a, the following information concerning the results of pressurizer code safety valve tests is hereby provided.

Pressurizer code safety valves are tested during each refueling shutdown to verify their setpoints.

Routine testing has determined that one of three valves would not have activated at or near its setpoint. The valve will be repaired and retested prior to returning the reactor to criticality.

Preliminary information indicates the possibility that the valve may have been damaged during the surveillance test sequence.

A followup report will be submitted within fourteen (14) days.

Very truly yours, i
