Dear Mr. Seyfrit:
The referenced report identified one new unresolved item regarding radiographs of auxiliary feedwater (AFW) piping welds. As a result of the IE inspector's concerns, Omaha Public Power District perfonned a detailed re-examination of the six radiographs in question. A review of the six radiographs was also performed by an independent Level III radiographer from Omaha Testing Laboratories (OTL). As a result of these reviews, the District has decided to repeat the six radiographs on the AFW piping during the 1981 refueling outage. The repeat radiographs should resolve the open item.
The District would like to clarify the experience history of per-sonnel referenced in the first paragraph of Section 2 of the Inspection Report. The District's Level III inspector, who had approved the six radiographs of concern, was employed by the Nebraska Testing Laboratory prior to his District enployment ar.d, upon leaving the District, he was employed by Gibbs & Hill, Inc.
