LOGIC AND DESIGN, DRAFT SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT, YANKEE R0WE is a draft of our Contractor's technical evaluation of this topic for your plant. is the staff's draft safety evaluation report. Enclosure 2 is based on Enclosure 1.
From our review of the contractor's work the staff has noted that the contractor's report references a previous report on Topic VII-1.A that identifies unresolved issues for inputs in the Reactor Trip System. Accordingly Enclosure 2 is the staff's positions regarding only the acceptability of the outputs of the ECCS systen. The staff finds the electrical isolation of ECCS logic meets current licensing criteria.
You are requested to review the enclosed reports within 30 days of receipt of this letter and to infonn the staff of any errors in the licensing basis used in our reports.
