UNIT 1 - FISSION GAS RELEASE ANALYSIS
Dear Mr. Denton:
This is in response to the August 21, 1981 NRC letter from B. J. Youngblood to E. A Borgmann. The letters referenced in that NRC August 21, 1981 letter, R. E. Engel (GE) to T. A. Ippolito (NRC),
" Extension of ECCS Perfot'mance limits", dated May 6 and May 28, 1981 are not applicable to Zimmer. These letters generically address fission gas release from fuel at high burnup for operating BWR-2, 3, and 4's.
The General Electric letter MFN-155-81 to R. L. Tedesco (NRC) from R. M. Pifferetti (GE) dated August 21, 1981 supplies the information required to extend the positions stated in the May 6 and May 28 letters to GE fueled BWR-5 and 6's that are seeking operating licenses.
