Steven Black and Mr. Sean Soong of my staff on September 10, 1981.
Since you are authorized by this renewal license to possess Special Nuclear Material in a quantity less than the amount as specified in Section 70.24 of 10 CFR Part 70, you are exempted from the requirement to install a criticality monitoring system. Your amendment application dated April 22, 1980, requesting exemption from the requirement of Section 70.24 of 10 CFR Part 70 is, therefore, no longer necessary and we will close this application.
This license is renewed for a full 5-year term, expiring September 30, 1986.
A copy of our Safety Evaluation, prepared to support this renewal action, is enclosed for your infomation.
