By Order dated March 23,1981 (CLI-81-3), the Comission removed the financial qualifications issue from review and litigation in the Ti!I-l restart proceeding. At the sama time it directed the flRC staff "to continue to nonitor the licensee's financial resources as long as is necessary and to report any health and safety implications to the Comission".

We have been continuously monitoring GPU's financial situation using information providad by GPU and by independent financial reporting services and other sources.

In order to continue nonitoring GPU's financial situation, it is requested that the financial information identified in the enclosure be provided to the staff as an on-going requirement. This requirenent will remain in effect until modified by the staff or modi-fled or cancelled by the Comission.

Enclosure REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL INFORMATION GENERAL PUBLIC UTILITIES CORPORATION By order dated 11 arch 23,1981 (CLI-81-3), The Nuclear Regulatory Commission removed the financial qualifications issue from review and litigation in the TMI-1 restart proceeding. At the same time it directed the NRC staff "to continue to monitor the licensee's financial resources as long as is necessary and to report any health and safety implications to the Commission." (page 9.) Accordingly, the following is an ongoing requirement for financial information submittals to the NRC staff. This requirement shall continue in effect until modified by the Staff or until modified or cancelled by the Commission.

All required items shall be submitted to the NRC staff within 10 days of their publication or origination.

Monthly Financial Reports.

Quarterly Financial Reports.

Annual Financial Reports 5.

All financial status reports or letters sent to the Pa PUC and the NJBPU.

2.

Copies of all consultant reports on the finances of GPU and/or its subsidiaries regardless of the party for whom the report was prepared.

3.

Public cash forecast dates.

4.

RCA bank letters that affect the terms of the Credit Agreement.

5.

Pa PUC and NJBPU Orders.

6.

Pa and NJ ALJ Recommendations.

7.

Financial testimony by the companies and bv the PUC staffs in upcoming rate cases.
