- 2) Gerard van Noordennen, LaCrosseSolutions, Letter to U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, "Final Status Survey Final Report - Phase 2," dated December 13, 2019 The La Crosse Boiling Water Reactor (LACBWR) Restoration Project License Termination Plan (L TP) describes the process ofreleasing land for unrestricted use. The L TP, Section 5.11, states that the Final Status Survey (FSS) Final Reports will be provided to the NRC in phases as remediation and FSS are completed for related portions of the site. The FSS Final Report for Phase 1 (i.e., Reference 1) and the FSS Final Report for Phase 2 (i.e., Reference 2) were previously submitted to the NRC.
The purpose of this letter is to provide the LACBWR Restoration Project FSS Final Report for Phase 3. The report includes a compilation of all fourteen survey unit release records within the scope of Phase 3. Specifically, the Phase 3 FSS Final Report addresses three sub-grade excavation survey units and eleven open land survey units. In addition, as this is the last phased report, this report includes an analysis of the dose from groundwater and the final compliance dose.
A partial site release request, to reduce the licensed area to the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation area, will be submitted under separate cover.
LACBWR hereby requests the NRC review the attached Phase 3 FSS Final Report for acceptance of this portion of the site final radiological survey by May 30, 2020.
There are no regulatory commitments contained within this letter.
