Licensing Engineer 20 Turnpike Road Westboro, Massachusetts 01581 Gentlemen:
The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 49 to Facility Operating License No. OPP-3 for the Yankee Nuclear Power Station (Yankee-Rowe). The amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications in response to your application dated March 23, 1977.
The amendment revises the Technical Specifications to correct typographical and editorial errors; to improve clarity and consistency of several Technical Specification requirements; and to implement other ' changes found to be necessary since the issuance of the Technical Specifications in the present new format so as to reflect actual plant conditions.
As indicated in our Safety Evaluation supporting this amendment and pumaant to discussions with your staff you have accepted several changes prop.osed by us and you have withdrawn several changes proposed by you in your March 23, 1977 application.
Further, your proposed changes which you have identified as items 3, 4 and 5 in your application will be handled by us separately at
. later date.
Copies of the Safety Evaluation and Notice of Issuance are also enclosed.
