Gray File This confirms our telephoned authorization given on Friday, September 4,1981 for a change in Technical Specification for the Zion Station, Unit No.1, as requested by the Comonwehlth Edison Company letter telecopied to us on September 4,1981.
Facility Operating License No. DPR-39 is amended on September 4,1981 by making the following Technical Specification change:

The Channel Calibration and Channel Functional Test for items 14 and
- 15. RCP Bus Undervoltage and P.CP Bus Underfrequency (Reactor Trips),
scheduled for the Spring 1981 refueling outage will be performed the next time these reactor coolant pumps are de-engergized or the first unit shutdown after Septehber 11, 1 981, whichever is earlier.
Copies of the License Amendment, our Evaluation and Federal Register Notice for this Technical Specification change will be sent to you when completed.
