JERSEY CENTRAL POWER & LIGHT COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT TO PROVISIONAL OPERATING LICENSE The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commission) has issued Amendment No. 56 to Provisional Operating License No. OPR-16, issued to i
Je'rsey Central Power & Light Company (the licensee), which revised the Technical Specifications for operation of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station (the facility) located in Ocean County, New Jersey.
The amendment is effective as of its date of issuance.
This amendment approves modifications to the Appendix B (Environmental)
Technical Specifications which will allow: (1) suspension of certain monitoring l
programs [ Sections 3.1.2.A(2) and 3.1.2.C], and (2) editorial corrections required becwse of inconsistencies, or redundancies. The onsite meteorological l
monitoring program in the Appendix A Technical Specifications is duplicated,in I

Section 3.3, and theref, ore, has been deleted.

The application for the amendment complies with the standards and require-l l
ments of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's rules and regulations. The Commission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and' regulations in 10 CFR l
Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment.
Prior public no,tice of this amendment was nat required since the amendment does not involve a significant hazards consideration.
