Gentlemen:

This refers to the inspection activities perfomed by our Resident Reactor

Inspector, Mr. A. B. Beach, during the period June through July 15, 1981, of

activities authorized by HRC Construction Permit CPPR-145 for River Bend,

Unit 1, and to the discussion of our findings with fir. Philip D. Graham

and other members of your staff during the inspection period.

Areas examined during the inspection and our findings are discussed in the

enclosed inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted

of selective examination of procedures and representative records, interviews

with personnel, and observations by the inspector.

Within the scopei.of this inspection, no violations or deviations were

identified.

,

We have also examined actions you have taken with regard to previously identi-

fled inspecton findings. The status of these items is identified in para-

graph 2 of the enclosed report.

One new unresolved item is identified in paragraph 6 of the enclosed report.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
