Dear Dr. Kelley:

i As a public water agency, we use considerable electrical energy to provide water service to our customers.

The cost for this electric energy must be passed on to the customer.

This past year, we used 16.8 million kwh.

In this regard, we wish to express our slupp. ort for the operation of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Statior., Units 1, 2,

and 3.

I We are vitally concerned tnat the economic, environmental, and social well-being of the State of California be main-tained.

An adequate supply of energy is critical in" meeting these concerns.

We also feel there must be a strong commitment to the development of efficient new sources of energy, and conservation of the nation's limited resources.

We urge you to proceed with the timely processing of the operation licenses for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3.
